Workshop Overview
Course Overview
As children transition into late childhood and adolescence, the window for non-surgical skeletal guidance begins to shift making precise, airway-focused orthodontic diagnostics more critical than ever. Compromised nasal breathing, myofunctional disorders, and sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in older children and teenagers frequently present as complex malocclusions, facial growth asymmetries, and persistent health issues that standard tooth-straightening cannot resolve.
This advanced clinical course focuses on the critical developmental window from age 8 through 18. Equipping you with cutting-edge 3D diagnostic tools and non-surgical expansion mechanics, this program demonstrates how to unlock the airway, optimize craniofacial growth, and dramatically improve the systemic and emotional health of growing adolescents.
What You Will Learn
-
Airway-Focused 3D Imaging: Master airway-centric cephalometric and CBCT analysis to accurately quantify airway space, skeletal deficiencies, and craniofacial pathology.
-
MARPE & MAPE Execution: Understand the clinical rationale, biomechanics, and age-specific protocols for Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE/MAPE) in adolescent populations.
-
Age-Based Skeletal Expansion: Implement precise expansion strategies designed to expand maxillary transverse dimensions and enhance nasal airway volume during late-mixed and adolescent development.
-
Adolescent Myofunctional & Tethered Tissue Care: Evaluate the ongoing impacts of tongue/lip ties and myofunctional dysfunction in older children, with targeted management and release protocols.
-
Comprehensive Orthodontic Planning: Integrate functional airway protocols into everyday orthodontic mechanics to address maxillary deficiencies and SDB simultaneously.
-
Multi-Specialty Care Integration: Establish structured collaborative workflows with ENTs, allergists, myofunctional therapists, physical therapists, and chiropractors for comprehensive patient care.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for clinical practitioners dedicated to offering advanced, airway-centric care to older children and adolescents:
-
Orthodontists looking to integrate advanced skeletal expansion (MARPE/MAPE) and airway analytics into their adolescent treatment plans.
-
Pediatric Dentists & General Dentists seeking advanced protocols for late-mixed and permanent dentition interceptive care.
-
Myofunctional Therapists aiming to deepen their expertise in skeletal mechanics, CBCT analysis, and interdisciplinary referral networks for older patients.
Why Attend?
Managing airway issues in adolescents requires a sophisticated blend of precise diagnostic imaging and targeted expansion techniques. By attending this course, you will elevate your practice beyond traditional alignment, gaining the tools to restore functional nasal breathing, resolve underlying sleep issues, and guide optimal facial aesthetics for your teenage patients.
