Intermediate Straight Wire Course

For General and Pediatric Dentists

Designed for the orthodontic practitioner who has completed the Basic Course or who has a working knowledge of straightwire orthodontics, the Intermediate Straightwire Course is a four-session series that will increase your orthodontic skills and education. While the Basic Straightwire Course equips students to treat 70% to 80% of patients, the Intermediate Course will equip you to strategize and treat the remaining cases right from your general or pediatric practice.

In each dynamic three-day session, Dr. Bradford R. Williams, D.D.S., will facilitate two days of hands-on clinical lectures and a half-day of case reviews for your current or prospective orthodontic cases. In the fourth session, you’ll visit Dr. Williams’ local clinic and get hands-on experience with Laser, Electrosurgery, and TADS. By the end of this four-session series, you’ll know:

What is Straight Wire Orthodontics?

Straight wire orthodontics utilizes straight wire appliances to strategically move teeth into their desired location using straight wire brackets and a series of pre-shaped archwires. Once flexed to fit into the bracket slots, the archwire will gradually return to its original shape and reposition bracketed teeth. Archwires are progressively changed until the desired occlusion is achieved. Along with providing consistent results, straight wire orthodontics requires little to no archwire bending and a shorter overall chair and treatment time for your patients.

FEEDBACK FROM

Dr. Rogers

“Dr. Williams has a unique and amazing gift for providing clinical orthodontic clarity and insight to doctors, helping them in the incorporation of orthodontics into ones practice is not only possible, but can be profitable and highly rewarding if implemented and managed correctly. His personalized manner and excellent teaching style provided me additional training and clinical skills to completely unlock the door to allowing my pediatric dental practice to synergistically operate alongside my growing orthodontic practice.”

Dr. Gregg

“Dr. Williams takes the Basic foundation and builds on it in a way that allows the general practitioner to manage the nuances of difficult cases. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to expand their orthodontic case load.”

- GREG A. WILSON,

Dr. Meeske

“Dr. Williams has designed courses that make understanding orthodontics much easier than was explained in dental school. He breaks down clinical orthodontic diagnosis & treatment into an easy-to-understand process. His course manual is very thorough and supports his low key yet entertaining way of teaching that really maximizes the opportunity for his students to learn and digest the material. He moves methodically through diagnosis of growth & development problems then treatment planning which enables students to treat 70% of the cases typically seen in practice. This has helped me better serve my patients, many for whom early treatment helps to avoid larger and more costly treatment.”

- JESSICA MEESKE,

DDS • HASTINGS, NE
Dr. Jeff Ahlin

Assistant Instructor

Susan is a Registered Dental Assistant that specializes in Orthodontics. She began her orthodontic career in a real orthodontic office, then moving into a GP office, Susan began to understand the difference between the two philosophies. Still active in assisting doctors in multiple offices, she continues to learn and find creative new ways to enhance orthodontics for the patients.

Not only a chair-side assistant in the Dallas area, Susan is blessed to be able to share her love and knowledge of orthodontics in continue education courses with Dr. Brad Williams.
